About Us
The Vancouver Island Canadian Football Association (VICFA) is the main governing body for youth community football across Vancouver Island. Our mission is to coordinate, develop, and support a variety of co-ed football programs for players aged 6 to 13. We aim to provide organized opportunities for participation during both the spring and fall seasons, ensuring that young athletes have plenty of chances to engage with the sport.VICFA proudly operates the largest spring tackle football league in Canada. Last year, we achieved remarkable engagement, with 578 players registered for the spring season and an impressive 454 players participating in the fall season. These numbers demonstrate not only the strong interest in football across the Island but also the consistent participation levels we enjoy. Currently, VICFA encompasses 11 clubs, with the ability to expand this number further in the future to accommodate even more young athletes. Through our programs, VICFA has successfully nurtured a multitude of players, coaches, and officials who have represented Vancouver Island at the highest levels of the sport. Our alumni have gone on to make their mark in the BC Football Conference (BCFC), U Sports, and the prestigious Canadian Football League (CFL). This track record highlights our commitment to developing talent and fostering opportunities for football enthusiasts on Vancouver Island. We place a high priority on working collaboratively with our member clubs to ensure that football on Vancouver Island is not only safe and well-organized but also accessible to all. By implementing standardized rules, providing comprehensive training programs, and facilitating efficient administration, VICFA creates a framework that encourages competitive play while simultaneously promoting values such as respect, sportsmanship, and community engagement. Our approach is designed to build a strong football culture that benefits players, coaches, families, and supporters across the Island.
